Gather the information that determines compatibility
Record accessible remote and controller model information. Describe whether normal movement requires holding a button, how stopping normally works, and whether the original transmitter is available. Do not open energized equipment to collect identifiers; use existing paperwork or ask your installer.
Understand the learning requirement
AirRemote’s GEM integration uses remote learning for supported configurations. A functioning compatible transmitter can therefore be important during setup. If yours has been lost or has stopped working, establish a supported setup path before assuming a gateway can replace it.
Prepare the network and placement
Choose a location with suitable Wi-Fi internet access and reliable communication to the lift. Confirm the supplied gateway’s installation requirements. The existing lift controls remain responsible for equipment operation; the gateway adds access to supported commands.
Check configuration before testing
Follow the learning flow, confirm the device’s operating mode, and review the commands shown in the app. Test with the required supervision and visibility. If behavior does not match the expected control mode, stop testing and review the configuration instead of repeatedly issuing commands.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a wiring or installation manual?
No. This guide explains preparation and compatibility questions. Use the instructions for your supplied hardware and your lift manufacturer’s installation requirements for the actual installation.
