AIRREMOTE

CONNECTED CONTROL, WHERE YOU NEED IT

Plan Wi-Fi control for your RUN-CHICKEN coop door

A Bluetooth chicken door can work from a nearby phone without being reachable over the internet. AirRemote bridges supported RUN-CHICKEN Bluetooth doors to Wi-Fi through a separate gateway. Use this guide to plan the connection before choosing hardware.

1. Confirm the door works locally

Identify your exact door model and verify its supported local Bluetooth controls using the manufacturer's instructions. AirRemote supports compatible Bluetooth models in the T50 / T80 family, rather than every door carrying those names. Address battery, obstruction, or local-control problems before adding internet access.

2. Find a location for both connections

Choose a gateway location with reliable Wi-Fi and internet access that is also within Bluetooth range of the door. Test at the intended mounting location, with the coop in its usual condition. Coverage inside the house does not prove coverage at the coop. Follow the gateway's supplied power and installation requirements.

3. Connect the gateway and add the door

Follow the setup instructions for your supplied AirRemote gateway to connect it to Wi-Fi and your account. Add the supported door through the AirRemote setup flow and confirm that the gateway is connected before testing commands. Final onboarding steps depend on the supplied hardware and software.

4. Verify controls while you are at the coop

Use the app or web dashboard to send the supported open and close commands while observing the door. Confirm actual movement and a clear opening. Then check internet access from your phone using a connection separate from the coop's Wi-Fi. Command history helps investigate requests; it is not a substitute for observing the door.

5. Review schedules and shared access

Check the door's built-in routines before creating AirRemote schedules so timers and light-sensor behavior do not conflict with app commands. Give caretakers access through their own accounts. Internet control depends on working gateway, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connections, so keep your normal local operating procedure available.

If a remote command does not work

Check whether the door still operates locally, whether the gateway is online, and whether both wireless connections remain available. Review command history and the exact model configuration. A gateway cannot repair a jammed mechanism or exhausted door batteries, and a successful request does not guarantee physical closure.

Frequently asked questions

Does my chicken door connect directly to Wi-Fi?

In this setup, the supported door connects to the AirRemote gateway over Bluetooth. The gateway supplies the Wi-Fi internet connection.

Does my phone have to stay within Bluetooth range?

Your gateway stays near the door. Your phone can use internet access elsewhere to reach supported controls through AirRemote, provided the gateway and its connections are working.
